Monte Gores is a licensed Acupuncturist and herbalist in Arizona and California. Once a stock option
floor trader for Goldman Sax in Chicago and San Francisco, his life path drastically changed after
volunteering at Quan Yin Healing Arts Center in San Francisco for two years. There he saw a population
of people with AIDS and Hepatitis C enhance their quality of life using acupuncture and herbs. After
completing 4 years of study at ACTCM in San Francisco, he received his Masters of Science degree in
Chinese Medicine. Outside of school, he interned with Carol Fong at Pou Ji Tang Clinic on Clement
street, San Francisco, which specializes in women's health and Fertility.
Monte also trained in Hang Zhou, China at the Zhe Jiang Zhong Yi Da Xue Yuan, Chinese medicine
teaching hospital. There he studied with Dr. Hu, specializing in women's health, treating hundreds
of cases of endometriosis and related issues. His time in China also involved extensive herbal medicine
training for adjunct cancer treatments, classical acupuncture techniques for migraines, an orthopedics
training for muscle and skeletal pain syndromes using herbs and massage. Monte has been studying
Daoist philosophy an internal arts including Wild Goose (Da Yan) and Wu Ji Qi Gong with
Master Larry Wong, since 1999 in San Francisco.
When Monte is not behind a Chinese medical text, he is downhill skiing, rock climbing, practicing
calligraphy, or cooking some Italian food for friends.
